ATC Language Industry Summit 2019

Word Connection is proud to be attending the forthcoming ATC Language Industry Summit 2019. Language service providers from across the world will be travelling to the annual summit which is a significant event on the industry calendar. This year, the stunning venue is the historic Royal Naval College, Greenwich.

We are looking forward to visiting both the amazing venue and the landmark attractions nearby. But more importantly, we are eager to network with industry professionals and to explore the important topics which will be discussed. Last year’s summit was extremely productive for us, and we are confident that Greenwich will prove to be equally impressive.

The Language Industry Summit 2018

In 2018, the Hilton Hotel, Cardiff provided an excellent venue for the summit which featured an impressive line-up of speakers. Transnational Organised Crime and Translation was explored together with Brexit and the future of LSPs. It was anticipated that the UK would have left the EU prior to this year’s summit, but that hasn’t happened.

The results of the 2018 Language Industry Survey were announced at the close of the 2018 summit, revealing that the legal sector remains the most fruitful ground for translation companies. Manufacturing and life sciences were demonstrated to be growth areas while survey respondents indicated that business growth overall had not kept pace with their expectations. It will be interesting to discover whether our fellow LSPs are feeling more positive this year.

The 2019 programme

The 2019 summit takes place 19-20 September and the two-day programme will encompass diverse aspects of our industry.

Tackling important issues and featuring presentations by highly-regarded speakers, the summit provides valuable insight into our industry. It should reveal new developments and exciting opportunities. The challenges of businesses large and small will be addressed and solutions explored. High achievers will be celebrated at the Summit Awards Dinner and the summit will close with the presentation of the 2019 survey results.

Following the summit, we will publish a summary of the event here on the Word Connection blog. But now it is time to head for Greenwich and to make our contribution to what promises to be an enlightening and enjoyable event.
